INSTALLATION AND ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS

FOR SOLID FUEL BURNING FIREPLACE LONDON MODEL

This fireplace is manufactured for burning wood (hardwoods are recommended)

ASSEMBLY - refer to drawing

The fireplace should be assembled directly on the place where you will have your fireplace so it doesn’t have to be moved. This fireplace is very heavy, make sure your floor will support the weight. The wall behind the fireplace has to be from approved fire resistant material.

The order of the assembly is from the bottom to the top. First set the base (use a level to level it out). After the base is set you continue with the firebox, the stone sides and so on. Under no circumstance should you use force, the assembly should be easy and use extra care not to damage the stone parts of the fireplace. It is recommended that 2 people are used to assemble the stove.

  1. Set the base (1) with the bottom support (2) on a fireproof floor (the fireproof floor has to be at least the width of the fireplace and extend at least 12” in front) and level it out
  2. Set the firebox (3) on the base and connect the firebox to the chimney – refer to installation part of this manual

The installation of this appliance must be installed according to all local regulations and laws.  Installation by a certified professional is recommended.

Before you begin installing your new stove make sure you check your chimney for proper air draw and have your chimney inspected by qualified personnel.  You must use a clean chimney that has a proper air draw.  To test this light a piece of paper or a candle and hold it in front of the chimney opening (the indoor opening you will hook your stove pipe to - not the roof opening).  If the flame is drawn into the chimney opening the chimney is working properly.  It is recommended that an experienced person is used to connect the stove to the chimney.  Hook up the stove with the stove pipe in an upright vertical position toward chimney opening with a pipe no longer than 6 feet from stove to the chimney (the shorter the better).   Use elbow and another pipe to connect to the chimney hole, do not use more than two elbows.  Single wall stove pipe used to connect the stove to the chimney should be as short as possible (shortest possible distance from stove to chimney opening) and rising from the stove to the chimney opening.  Stove pipes and elbows must be properly inserted into each other in the chimney opening direction.  Stove pipe attaches over the flue outlet neck.  Each joint of the stove pipe must be secured with at least three sheet metal screws and overlapped at least 3 inches.  If the chimney hole is larger or smaller than the stove pipe it has to be equipped with an adapter for the proper fit with the stove pipe.  For proper chimney hook up refer to drawing number 1.

SINGLE WALL STOVE PIPE MUST NOT PENETRATE WALLS OR CEILINGS.

Do not install this product any closer than 16 inches from any combustible object (The clearance has to be doubled to 16 inches if installed next to highly combustible materials) in any direction and 32 inches in front of the stove.  For proper clearance for stove pipe refer to the instructions provided by the manufacturer of the pipe or your local regulations and laws.

To install your stove not into a chimney use a double wall pipe through your ceiling and roof.  We recommend you have a certified professional install it.

Warning:  You must observe all of the local and other safety laws and regulations that are applicable.

Failure to observe any of these instructions may result in serious injury or loss of property and it will void all of the manufactures and sellers responsibility and warranty.
